Oh! that last picture is absolutely priceless! Ali, great pictures! I am more impressed every time you post some. I keep tellin' you, you've got a natural eye. Love 'em!

Ali, how do you manipulate the lighting? Do you have things set up or is your camera just incredible?

I'm just getting into photography so I need all the help I can get.

Speaking of, can I borrow your friend's baby for a minute -- adorable!

Celia. I shoot with a Canon 30D, which has taken me a LONG time to get the hang of, and I still know NOTHING. I don't use anything but natural light, which is why if you looked close on these pictures they are all a little bit out of focus. I have a LOT of mastering yet to do. Good luck...if you learn anything good, pass it on.

These pictures are beautiful, Ali. I am a good friend of Shannon's and am SO impressed with your photography skills. I am attempting to try my luck with this whole photography stuff but it's so hard (my mom is a professional children's photographer in Idaho, www.karenandersonphotography.com) I have the Canon Rebel with a few lenses, what do you shoot with? Seriously, you should start a business, you are amazing. I love the blogging world! Your blog is awesome. ~Kristy Dunning

Oh silly, just read your comment, the Canon 30D.. that is a great camera. All of my pictures seem to be a little out of focus too! That has been my biggest complaint. I have photoshop elements which is OK, but probably need to invest the time in learning photoshop and invest in a Mac, my thinkpad just doesn't have the memory for these large files! anyway, would love to talk camera stuff sometime. I am soo impressed!

Hey Kristy...you are a friend of Adrienne's too! Love that girl!

Thanks for the compliments. I am jealous that you have your own personal assistant that can help you learn the art of photography. I wish I had someone I could call upon at my leisure who could explain all the deep dark secrets to a nice photo.

Here is my e-mail if you ever have a question or want to share an "ah-ha" discovery with me. I need as many as I can get! alidegraff@yahoo.com

Ali,
You did a wonderful job. I'm really impressed. We should talk about your focus issues. (I am not saying I noticed them, I didn't, but you mentioned it so... come over.)

These are really great, the first is my favorite because it shows your eye for composition.

YAY!

Wendy, you just made me a happy woman. I would love some tips. It just drives me nuts when the photos are blurred.

I think I will be seeing you today, right? At the Heritage Lake Chili Cookoff? I will stop by your booth. :)

Well, frankly no. I won't be there because I am doing sessions in Utah! I had to back out of the booth but I still donated some prizes.

Have fun!

Ali-- these are fabulous. I love the blurred background ones... I guess I'll have to look closer for the ones that aren't supposed to be blurry cuz i didn't see them. then again, i'm not wearing my glasses. (o:
